Daughter Replaces Family Photos With Images of Dressed-Up Dog - and Parents Don't Notice for 2 Weeks

A college student replaced family photos with pictures of her dog in various costumes, just to see if her mom would notice.

Marissa Hooper quietly replaced her family photos in her Texas home with images of her pet Chihuahua, just to see if her retired parents would notice.

The 21-year-old from Huntsville has spent the past several months recreating family snapshots around the house with her dog, Dixie.

Hooper and her sister, who both attend college away from home, wanted to find out whether their parents “looked at all of the pictures when they missed us.”

It wasn't until about two weeks later when her mother took notice of one of the doctored photos, which featured Dixie in a graduation gown instead of Marissa.

“Embarrassingly, she found it while company was over and knew immediately it had to be one of us playing a joke on her,” Hooper told InsideEdition.com.

The mother immediately sent a text message: "Stop doing that with my pictures!!!"

Marissa replied, "I don't have any idea what you're talking about."

"I know it was you!" her mother said. "I keep having to explain to company why we have 5x7s of Dixie everywhere," her mother said, adding, "Her graduation picture came out better than yours."

Though the sisters were caught, Marissa said she won't let the joke die. Whenever she is home from Sam Houston State University, she finds new ways to catch her mother’s eye.

Hooper creates the costumes with objects around the house and the two-pound puppy always seems to embrace the roles.

And Dixie appears to be enjoying all of the attention.

“She’s always cooperative and some say she even poses,” Hooper said. "It's really just awesome to see so many people falling in love with her too."
