Sarah Palin stopped in New York to share a pizza with Donald Trump in Times Square, fueling further speculation of a presidential bid for Palin. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Sarah Palin and Donald Trump's dinner date at a Times Square restaurant has become the most talked about pizza party in history. On the menu: plain cheese slices with a side of presidential political talk.
Palin and Trump created a media frenzy as they passed through throngs of reporters on their way to the low-key pizza parlor Famous Famiglia. Trump's wife, Melania, and Palin's daughter, Piper, joined the power duo for the pizza summit.
"They're both masters at publicity, and that's why they came to Times Square to one of the busiest pizza places in the city. Everyone was here—New Yorkers, the press, tourists—all taking pictures," Shushanne Walshe of The Daily Beast said.
But it didn't seem like anyone was especially interested in the food, as most of the pizza went untouched. Trump, however, took a few bites using a fork and knife. This is a big no-no in the Big Apple, and the mogul is a born and bred New Yorker.
Trump even took to YouTube to defend his pizza eating style!
"This way you can take the top of the pizza off. I like not to eat the crust so that we keep the weight down at least as good as possible," Trump said.
Diane McInerney headed to Famous Famiglia to learn how to chow down the right way. The restaurant crew taught her to eat pizza like a true New York City girl: fold and take a big bite (no utensils necessary).
"Everyone who came to New York wanted to chat with Donald Trump and have a slice of pizza. He's an institution here," Palin said of their dinner.
After the meal, Palin continued touring the country's historic landmarks on day four of her "One Nation" bus trip, paying visits to both Ellis Island and The Statue of Liberty.
Amidst the chaos, Palin has managed to squeeze in some parenting lessons. The Alaska native ordered her daughter, Piper, to apologize for pushing a cameraman. Shockingly, 10-year-old Piper played bodyguard in Philadelphia yesterday, and shoved the man for getting too close to her mom.
"Piper apologizes for pushing one of the photographers the other day. She was trying to protect me," Palin said.
