Lin-Manuel Miranda has teamed up with some of the biggest Latino stars to raise money for relief in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria tore through the island two weeks ago.

The mastermind behind Hamilton has enlisted the help of Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony and Rita Moreno on his new single, "Almost Like Praying."
The song is a take on the classic ballad “Maria" from West Side Story, the inspiration behind Miranda’s Broadway breakthrough show, In the Heights, which he created in 2005.
“My mind began flipping lyrics from “Maria,” [and I thought,] How can we flip this tragedy into something positive and so that's why we have that West Side Story sample?" he said in a video for Spotify Latino.

Miranda is also defending his recent controversial tweet in which he lashed out at President Trump's handling of the Puerto Rico crisis following Hurricane Maria.
“You're going straight to hell, @realdonaldtrump. No long lines for you. Someone will say, ‘right this way, sir.’ they'll clear a path,” he tweeted over the weekend.
“I have never seen the president of the United States attack victims of a natural disaster. That has no precedent and so the words coming out of me also has no precedent,” he told CBS This Morning on Friday.
