Every student in the school also got a brand new backpack filled with supplies.
A group of kindergarten students were left stunned as they walked into their classroom to find it had been completely made over.

The room at Dolores Huerta Elementary School in Los Angeles used to look rundown.
Teacher Monica Flores also had no idea that a team of volunteers from Jo-Ann Stores and the Kids in Need Foundation were working around the clock on the surprise, carrying signs and moving furniture.
The kids even have their photos displayed on the wall.
“We've filled this with tons of crafts supplies and inspirational things for the kids here,” Richard Vollmer, the VP of brand and creative services for Jo-Ann stores, told Inside Edition.
The kindergartners are thrilled to explore their new room and have a look at their cubbies, which are now fully stocked with arts and crafts supplies
“When the kids have the basic supplies, their behavior, their attitude, their ability and even their self-esteem improve,” Dave Smith of the Kids in Need Foundation told Inside Edition.

Flores, the teacher, wiped away tears as she was in disbelief about what she was seeing.
“I am overjoyed and I feel very fortunate and very happy,” she said. “Thank you.”
And that's not all. There was also a gift for the entire school as each student got a backpack filled with supplies.
Flores was picked for the surprise makeover because she has a big heart and is always willing to go the extra mile to help her students, according to the school.
