When running for public office, your past may come back to haunt you. But one senatorial candidate is embracing an old video of him dancing in a Speedo. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
A hilarious video has surfaced of a man dancing around his bedroom wearing only a Speedo. Believe it or not, the guy gyrating in the video is actually running for state Senate in Maine.
INSIDE EDITION’s Diane McInerney spoke with Eric Brakey.
McInerney asked, “Why are you dancing around in a Speedo?”
Brakey said, “This was a commercial that I shot while working as a professional actor.”
The video, shot in 2011, was originally part of a national commercial for Vita Coco coconut water. Brakey was working as an actor in New York and was hired for the ad along with half-a-dozen other men all dancing around in printed briefs.
But what was all done in good fun is now coming back to haunt Brakey. He believes the video is being circulated to mock him and his stance on conservative family values.
One critic wrote, he looks "demon possessed" while "flamboyantly prancing around in his underwear."
But Brakey isn't hiding his face in shame. He says he's proud of the video saying, “It was an effort to do damage, but I think it's completely backfired. It's still entertaining people.”
