INSIDE EDITION has learned the parents of 'affluenza' teen Ethan Couch had their own run-ins with the law in the past.
The story of the teenager who avoided prison because he has 'affluenza' just got even more bizarre.
Ethan Couch's wealthy parents have had their own brushes with the law that included mugshots. And guess what—they also avoided prison time.
HLN host Jane Velez Mitchell told INSIDE EDITION, "We do have a two-tiered system of justice in this country. One for the rich and the rest for everyone else."
Ethan's father, 48-year-old business executive Fred Couch has an arrest record going back to 1988, with two charges of theft, evading arrest, and assault. Plus 18 traffic violations.
The two theft charges and evading arrest were dropped after he paid $1,100 in restitution. The assault charge, which stemmed from a domestic dispute was dismissed.
Ethan's mother, Tonya was charged with reckless driving in 2003. She allegedly forced another motorist off the road. She was fined $500 and served six months probation.
On The View, TV personality and former prosecutor Nancy Grace called for the removal of the juvenile court judge in the so-called affluenza case.
"Judge Jean Boyd who needs to be thrown off the bench," said Grace.
