A family was barricaded in a bedroom and feared they were going to be attacked by their own cat. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
The terrified Barker family called 911 because they were under attack and had to barricade themselves in a bedroom.
What had them so scared? It was the family cat.

In the 911 call, the father, Lee said, “He is charging at us. He's outside our bedroom door! He's trying to attack us. He is very, very, very, very hostile.”
The ferocious kitty, a black and white 22-pound monster named Lux, apparently went nuts when baby Jesse pulled him by the tail. First, the cat attacked the baby. Then, he went after the rest of the family.
Lee said to the 911 Operator: “Yeah, hi. I have a kind of a particular emergency here. My cat attacked a seven-month-old child and I kicked the cat in the rear and it just went off over the edge and we aren't safe around the cat. It is a very large Himalayan and we're trapped in our bedroom. He won’t let us out of our door!”
Teresa Barker told INSIDE EDITION, “You move, he moves. You move, he moves. He is ready to attack you at any moment.”
Teresa said that she, baby Jesse, Lee, and their puppy Smokey took refuge in the bedroom.
911 Operator: “So you guys are inside your bedroom right now?”
Lee: “Yeah. When I leave out of the bedroom to let the police in, I’m going to have to fight this cat. Do you hear him screaming? That was the cat!”
911 Operator: “Yeah I hear him. Keep your door shut okay!”
Lee: “Tell them to be careful. The police.”
911 Operator: “Do you think the cat will try to attack the police?"
Lee: “Yes.”
The cops came and locked him up in a crate.
Many are mocking the family for being such scaredy cats.
Fox News asked, "Do you believe this? Are you buying this?"
Whoopi Goldberg said on The View, "They wound up locking themselves in the bedroom! Then, they called 911!"
But, cats can be violent and dangerous when they're angry.
In one video, a cat was viciously biting and scratching his owners. In another video, a kitty did not like visiting the vet. They need a net to keep him from attacking.
Jackson Galaxy, the host of Animal Planet's My Cat From Hell, said that Lee may have aggravated the situation by kicking the cat.
He told INSIDE EDITION, "If you kick your cat while they are in an agitated state, you are pouring gasoline on the fire."
Lux today is not so scary now. In fact, he's camera shy. The family has no plans to get rid of the Himalayan as long as he keeps his temper in check.
