Flight instructor and CNN regular, Mitch Casado has been fired by his flight simulator company over his unprofessional attire. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Mitch Casado is the flight instructor who became a regular on CNN during coverage of missing Flight 370. Casado was often seen piloting a flight simulator next to CNN reporter Martin Savidge.
Casado also became famous for something else—the shabby outfits he wore on national television. He often showed up to work in plaid shirts. Someone even started a Twitter handle poking fun at his down market look called, @MitchPlaidShirt.
CNN's Jeanne Moos even made fun of it, saying, "Even a serious subject matter has not stopped the public fascination with a plaid shirt."
INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent spent time with Casado last month at UFly in Toronto, Canada, where he was wearing a plaid shirt and jeans.
Now, Casado has been fired for those too-casual work clothes. His boss, Claudio Teixeira, the owner of UFly said, "People were complaining that it wasn't professional at all... If you go to any plane you don't see (pilots) in shorts and sandals."
Casado's boss says he had been warned to dress more professionally, but his boss said he ignored the warnings and continued, "Dress like he was 15 years old."
On the INSIDE EDITION Facebook page, people had strong reactions.
Traci wrote, "If he doesn't dress the way his employers wish, then he should be canned. That's the way it works!"
Tony said, "What difference does it make how he dresses? It's the information that counts!"
