INSIDE EDITION speaks to Boston Marathon bombing survivor Rebekah DiMartino who courageously faces amputation of her foot.
Why is one woman laughing after she's just had her left foot amputated? Because Rebekah DiMartino is an extraordinary profile in courage.
She was on the sidelines at the Boston Marathon with her boyfriend, Pete, and their young son, Noah, when that terrorist bomb went off a year-and-a-half ago. All three were injured, but she took the worst of it.
She said, “I looked down, I thought my legs were completely gone. My bones were laying next to me. I really thought I was going to die that day."

She survived, and even managed to walk down the aisle to marry Pete in a glorious ceremony last Spring, but her left foot was far from perfect, despite 18 surgeries.
"I could walk with a boot, but my leg would swell so bad that it would just completely exhaust me," she said.
Doctors in a hospital outside Houston reluctantly agreed her left leg had to come off, just below the knee. That's when she realized that laughter really is the best medicine.
Rebekah posted a photo of her left foot, with the words: "It's Not You, It's Me!" When the time came for the amputation, she posted this message on her Facebook page: "Hasta La Vista, Leftie!"
A nurse wrote "Get Well" on her stump. She wept with joy when her husband came to see her and you won't believe her plans for the future!
She said, “You keep going, you don't let go. You fight!"
