Worldwide, three million tweets about Ferguson have lit up social media since the bombshell news broke.
The announcement was made by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch, who said, "The grand jury deliberated over two days, making their final decision. They determined that no probable cause exist to file any charge against officer Wilson."
The announcement, coming at night, enraged Donald Trump.
Trump tweeted: "Who is the moron who decided to release the Ferguson grand jury findings after 9:00 o'clock in the evening? What were they thinking?"
And CNN anchor Don Lemon made a controversial remark from Ferguson when he said, "Obviously there's a smell of marijuana in the air as well."
Some saw this remark as implying that the protestors were stoned.
One tweet said: "Did he really just say 'obviously'?"
Perhaps this sad and tragic situation is best summed up by basketball superstar LeBron James who tweeted: "As a society how do we do better and stop things like this happening time after time!!!"
