There's gratitude today from the widow of American sniper Chris Kyle now that the jury has found the man who shot Kyle and his friend guilty.
"God Bless the Jury.” That’s what the widow of American sniper Chris Kyle is telling the nation on Wednesday.
In a message on Facebook, Taya Kyle wrote: "Chris, you are the love of my life. You live on in my heart. You always will. I hope we all live lives that make you proud."
She also gave special thanks to the "Good people of Stephenville, Texas!!" where the trial was held.
Six of the jurors spoke on Good Morning America.
They had this message for Taya and the families, "It is a very sad story, it is a tragedy. I hope the families, the Littlefield and the Kyle families, get some closure over this."
Kyle's parents and brother embraced outside the courtroom. The mother of Chad Littlefield, who was shot in the back alongside Chris Kyle, spoke with raw emotion. She told reporters outside the court, "We waited two years for God to get justice for us on behalf of our son."
INSIDE EDITION spoke with Cade Courtley, a friend of Chris Kyle’s.
He said, "Even in the state of Texas, when jury goes to trial, you never know what is going to happen. Thank God justice was served.
Chris Kyle’s widow, Taya, reportedly stormed out of the courtroom during the defense closing arguments and wasn't in court when the verdict was read.
INSIDE EDITION is now hearing for the first time the heartbreaking testimony Taya gave during the trial. The audio was embargoed by the judge until now.
A lawyer asked her, "Who were you married to prior to February 2, 2013?"
An emotional Taya replied, "Chris Kyle."
Clutching her husband's dog tags, Taya described the last time she saw him, "We just said we loved each other and gave a kiss and a hug like we always did."
The defendant, Eddie Ray Routh, claimed he suffers from PTSD and was insane when he shot the two heroes.
But the jury didn't buy his story.
On Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos asked the jurors, "Did you all think he was faking?"
One of the jurors replied, "That was something we had to figure out from the beginning. I know a lot of us came into this jury questioning that."
The jurors say the hit movie, American Sniper, did not influence their verdict.
It comes on the heels of Taya’s appearance at the Oscars on Sunday. She posed for pictures, once again holding Chris' dog tags in her hand.
Now she says, “God Bless The Jury.”
