You won't believe what she does for a living.
Have you ever heard of anything so brazen? An airline passenger smoked a cigarette onboard!
Realizing a flight attendant was on the way, she actually tried to hide the cigarette in the seat back. She appeared to blame the guy sitting next to her when confronted by an attendant.
Passenger Blake Goodwin had been sitting on the other side of the woman earlier before he decided he had enough and left.
He told INSIDE EDITION, "She leans over to me and says 'Hey, can I have a cigarette?' And I'm like, 'No!'"
The flight attendant told her Miami police will be waiting for her when she gets off. She told the attendant, “I already know that. I want to say my piece before I’m arrested.”
So, who's the smoking passenger? She's been identified as Karen Halnon. And she's an Associate Professor of Sociology at one of America’s top-ranked colleges, Penn State.
Goodwin added, "She told us her name, she told us her position at the university, and she said, 'If you guys want to bail me out, that would be great.'"
Her wacky mug shot was taken after she was charged with disorderly conduct.
