Opening Statements Begin in Donald Trump’s Hush Money Trial

Day one of Donald Trump’s hush money trial came to an abrupt end when an alternate juror had to go to the dentist. During the opening statements, Trump's attorney branded Stormy Daniels as an opportunist and a liar. Todd Blanche says Daniels’ "false allegations” she had an affair with Trump were “sinister.” The prosecutor read out a transcript of the notorious “Access Hollywood” tape, arguing it depicted Trump bragging about sexual assault.
