Martin Luther King Jr.’s Daughter Recalls Finding Out He Had Been Killed

Martin Luther King Jr. was shot while on a balcony outside his room at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968. In 2008, Inside Edition went to Memphis to meet King’s youngest daughter, Bernice, who spoke about how she was told her father was assassinated. At the time of the interview, Barack Obama was running for president and Bernice King shared what she believed her father would think about the possibility of the first African-American president.
