The killing of George Floyd drove home for the nation what the Black American community has always lived with: there is an imbalance in this country and it’s one that needs to be rectified. As part of The Issue and for its first oral history, Inside Edition Digital spoke with a dozen Black Americans to break down the both simple and nuanced question: What has it been like to be Black in America, and what do you hope it will mean going forward?
