Rihanna's Riveting Interview

Airdate: 11/5/2009

"This happened to me...I didn't cause this...I didn't do it," says Rihanna.

It's the interview the whole nation is talking about: Rihanna breaking her silence about the vicious beating she got at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The interview with 20/20's Diane Sawyer was previewed on Good Morning America. In one riveting moment, Rihanna says she was actually embarrassed and ashamed she was beaten.

"Why be ashamed?" asked Diane Sawyer.

"Because I didn't want people to think that that's the kind of person...I fell in love with that person, that's embarrassing, that's the type of person that I fell in love with, so far in love, so unconditional that I went back," the superstar explains.

There was shock when Rihanna briefly went back to dating Brown after the beating. Rihanna now admits that was a huge mistake and she has a message for other victims of domestic violence...Don't be blinded by love.

"I would say that to any young girl that's going through domestic violence...Don't react to love, because love is so blind," Rihanna said.
