Farrah Fawcett's Funeral

Airdate: 7/1/2009
On the day he bid his heartbreaking goodbye to his longtime love Farrah Fawcett, there was new family drama for Ryan O'Neal.

"I'm not allowed in," O'Neal's estranged son Griffin told INSIDE EDITION, saying he was kicked out of the funeral at his father Ryan's request.  "We drove 300 miles to get here."

Griffin went to the church with his wife and young son, and he spent several minutes talking to a security guard and making calls on his cell phone.  Despite several attempts, he was not allowed in.

"I was here to say goodbye to a person I had lived with and loved for 33 years and it breaks my heart," he said.

Griffin has been publicly feuding with his father for years.  He says the two haven't spoken since 2007 when Griffin says Ryan fired a gun at him during an argument at Farrah's 60th birthday party.  Ryan says he fired a shot in self-defense and criminal charges were dropped.

Still, Griffin says he loved Farrah and is devastated that he couldn't say goodbye.

"She's mad right now, in that casket, she's mad that I'm not in there," Griffin told INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander outside the church.

Ryan O'Neal talked about banning Griffin from the funeral later that night, as he was leaving a Malibu restaurant where he ate dinner with a mystery brunette.

"Is it true Griffin wasn't allowed in the funeral?" asked a photographer.

"That's true," affirmed O'Neal, going on to say it was because "he's a bad guy."

Inside his limo, O'Neal was also seen sharing a kiss with an unknown woman.

Earlier, O'Neal, wearing a suit and dark sunglasses helped carry Farrah's flower-covered casket.  After loading it into the hearse he took one last moment for a final goodbye.

200 guests were on hand for the touching memorial including Farrah's Charlie's Angels co-star Kate Jackson, her close friend Alana Stewart, actress Marla Maples, and Dynasty star Joan Collins.

Guests were given a program with a stunning photograph of Farrah, a reminder of her iconic beauty.

Farrah and Ryan's son Redmond, who is serving time behind bars, was allowed to leave jail for three hours to say a final farewell to his beloved mom.

Ryan O'Neal confirmed that Redmond was allowed to attend Farrah's funeral, and told reporters, "She is missed already."
