Last Paintings Bought by Michael Jackson

Airdate: 7/2/2009
This is the last painting Michael Jackson bought, just before his sudden death.

It's a painting of the Wicked Witch of the West, from The Wizard of Oz.  Nelson De La Nuez sold the painting and two others to the King of Pop just days before he died.

He was stunned when Jackson came into a Beverly Hills gallery and bought the Witch and two other paintings for nearly $15,000.

"I'm thinking, it's crazy, he's got the Ed Hardy hat on and the veil and you can't help but notice that's Michael Jackson, and it's like "Wow,' " says De La Nuez.

Jackson showed his appetite for expensive artwork when he went shopping with journalist Martin Bashir in the now-notorious 2003 documentary, Living with Michael Jackson.

"I bought this one this one, this one, this table, this chess set."

And De La Nuez will never forget the day the King of Pop popped in for his final shopping spree.

"He just loved and was really transfixed by my Wicked Witch and that's the ultimate compliment, from one creative guy to the other," De La Nuez tells INSIDE EDITION.
