"It's really sad and kind of despicable."
They are strong words from the late Farrah Fawcett's best friend Alana Stewart, who says she's disgusted by claims from Ryan O'Neal's son Griffin that she was having an affair with O'Neal while Farrah lay dying.
"It was just a little strange for me, I'm not sure, you know, I hear reports of Ryan and Alana, you know, maybe even getting together," Griffin told INSIDE EDITION.
"Griffin O'Neal, Ryan's own son, claims that you were having an affair with Ryan," says INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney.
"No! I have never, you know on my life and my children's lives, we were not having any kind of a romantic relationship," says an indignant Stewart.
Stewart's new book My Journey With Farrah has just been released. In it, she tells the story of her 30-year friendship with the Charlie's Angels icon.
And she shares sweet personal photos of the two carefree friends sharing the highs and lows of life. She says Farrah was a happy person, despite reports that her lifelong love, Ryan O'Neal, wasn't the easiest man to live with.
"His own children claim that their father was an abusive father, that Ryan was also a ladies man, why would Farrah stay with him?" asks McInerney.
"I never saw any of that, that's all I can say, is that I never saw any of that and all I know is that he and Farrah were together for thirty years, and off and on; they had sometimes a volatile relationship but they always had a bond and I always knew they'd end up together," Stewart says.
Stewart hopes her book will keep the memory of Farrah alive, and she's deeply upset by critics who accuse her and Ryan O'Neal of making a buck off Farrah's death.
Griffin O'Neal told INSIDE EDITION during a recent interview, "I don’t know if [O'Neal] was doing everything that he was doing for the right reasons, I think he had other motives, more financial motive than anything else."
"What do you say to people think that you're exploiting your friend's death to make money?" asks McInerney.
"First of all," says Alana, "Part of the profits are going to cancer research, and I'm going to be working very closely with her foundation to carry out her wishes. It was Farrah's idea to do this book originally."
And Stewart says she hopes the book will inspire people with Farrah's bravery.
"She enjoyed life, she loved life, she wanted to live...you know, the only tragic part about Farrah's life was that it ended too soon."
