NFL star J.J. Watt was so moved by 12-year-old Nicholas Conners performance of the national anthem, he got out of his seat to congratulate him.
Before the Houston Rockets played the Dallas Mavericks in Tuesday night’s NBA playoff game in Houston, a 12-year-old named Nicholas Conners stole the show before the players even went to tip-off.

Conners sang the national anthem and his rendition was so powerful, NFL star and member of Houston Texans, J.J. Watt left his seat to give the tween a hug and congratulate him when he was done singing.

It took Conners a few seconds to realize who it was after Watt came up from behind him and tapped him on his shoulders. When he finally figured out it was the NFL star, Conners had such a surprised look on his face that quickly turned to sheer joy.

On Wednesday morning, Watt tweeted “Could y’all help me get in contact with Nicholas? He dominated the national anthem last night.”
