Cheryl Treadway and her kids were being held hostage at knife-point when she sent out a cry for help through the Pizza Hut app.
A 911 call was at the center of a headline-making hostage drama.
The caller said, “This is Pizza Hut. We had an order that just popped up on our screen, it has, "Please help, get 911 to me."
911 operator: “It said, 'Please help, hostage situation?'"
Caller: “It says ‘911 hostage help’ on the ticket.”
The order really did contain a frantic "help me!" plea from a hostage mom.
Cops say Cheryl Treadway and her three children were imprisoned in their Florida home near Tampa by her knife-wielding boyfriend.
He let Cheryl order food. She used the Pizza Hut cell phone app and while placing an order for a large pepperoni pie, quick-thinking Cheryl secretly typed "911 hostage help!"

And in the "Special Instructions" section, she wrote "Please help. Get 911 to me."
Pizza Hut manager Candy Hamilton was taken aback when she saw the plea, saying, "I never seen anything like that come through."
It's Candy's voice on that dramatic 911 call.
She told 911, “It's got it in two separate places to call for help.”
911 operator: “And is anyone going to take the pizza there or are they going to wait for us to go check it out?”
Candy: “They're going to wait.”
Instead of the pizza delivery guy, cops showed up at the home. They say they persuaded the boyfriend, Ethan Nickerson, to surrender and let his hostages go unharmed.
In a press conference, an officer said, "The boyfriend never knew about us until he saw us around the corner."
