He wanted bucks out of Starbucks!
Police Lieutenant Matthew Kohr claimed he suffered third-degree burns when he spilled a hot cup of coffee on his lap at a Starbucks in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Kohr said, "It was the most intense, extreme pain I've ever had in my life."
Kohr added that the mishap also caused a flare-up in his Crohn's disease.
He sued for $750,000, claiming Starbucks was negligent because the lid popped off his cup.

Kohr's wife, Melanie, also sued claiming the mishap ruined their love life.
Stephanie Stilwell of Time Warner Cable News said, "Throughout the trial they were caressing each other and holding hands and you could see that they were certainly together as a couple and certainly in this together."
If the lawsuit sounds familiar, it's because it is the plot of a classic Seinfeld episode.

Now, the Civil jury has returned with a 10-2 verdict ruling that Starbucks was not liable.
Kohr made a brief statement after the verdict with his wife by his side. He said, "Melanie and I just want to thank all of our friends and family for all the support. They've been fantastic throughout this whole ordeal. We also want to thank the jury of twelve for coming together and taking the matter seriously like we thought it was."
Who knows, maybe there will be "grounds" for an appeal.
