'The Watcher' Sends Terrifying Letters to Family With New Home: 'Have You Found Out What Is in the Walls?'

Could it be another 'Amityville Horror?' One New Jersey family is terrified to move into its home.

One grand old house is the center of a scary mystery. Someone who calls himself "The Watcher" is terrorizing a family who thought it was going to be their dream home.

The six-bedroom house is located on a beautiful block in upscale Westfield, New Jersey. It's empty now.

The family that owns the house won't live here because they're too terrified to move in. Why? Because just three days after buying it, they received chilling letters from "The Watcher."

"I am The Watcher and I have been in control of (the house) for the better part of two decades now," he wrote, "My grandfather watched the house in the 1920's and my father watched it in the 1960's. It is now my time."

Then he asked the family, "Why are you here? I will find out."

The letter was sent to Derek and Maria Broaddus. They have three young kids, so imagine their concern when they read this: "Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Once I know their names I will call to them and draw them to me."

It's like something out of the horror movie Halloween with a deranged psycho watching the house.

The letters from The Watcher kept coming. "Have you found what is in the walls yet?" he asked, "I am pleased to know your names now and the name of the young blood you have brought to me."

Margaret Davis lived in the house with her family from the 1960's to the 1980's - 26 years! We asked whether The Watcher ever tried to communicate with her.

"It's a wonderful place. Idylic. Mayberry R.F.D.," she told INSIDE EDITION. "That was nothing that was ever part of our time there. So, I don't know whether someone was watching or not, but we certainly never heard about it," she added.

The new family bought the house for $1.3 million, but now they're suing the previous owners claiming they deliberately withheld knowledge of The Watcher because they were afraid of losing the sale.

It's a dream home has become a nightmare, thanks to a creep who calls himself "The Watcher."

Many states do have laws requiring a seller to disclose any information which could impact the value of a property -- New Jersey however, is not one of them.
