Fantasia Barrino's suicide attempt took the nation by surprise, but some are now questioning the timing of the incident. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Fantasia Barrino is revealing new details about her suicide attempt.
"I was overloaded with everything, with carrying six years of so much," said Barrino.
On Good Morning America Tuesday she said it wasn't just despair over her love life that pushed her over the edge.
"Everybody feels like I tried to harm myself over a man but, I've been in a lot of bad relationships. I think that had somewhat to do with it, but I think it was six years of everything. Of me holding all that stuff on the inside and not letting it out," said Barrino.
The American Idol winner became tearful when she talked about a nurse who inspired her to keep on living.
"She looked at me and said 'You gotta get out of here and go back to work.' And for me, that was when I felt like there are people who love and support me and wanna see me keep going," said Barrino.
Despite Barrino's heart-felt interview, some people are questioning the timing of her suicide attempt, pointing out that it happened just two weeks before the release of her new comeback album. She also has a Vh1 reality show.

Bonnie Fuller of hollywoodlife.com says, "People are very cynical today because there have been reality TV stars who have demonstrated that they would go to any lengths for publicity. So poor Fantasia is nwo being looked at through cynical eyes."
Fantasia adressed the rumors in an interview with Gayle King on Sirius/XM satellite radio
King said, "First address this, Fantasia, because some people say, 'Gayle, you're such a sucker. This is a big publicity stunt for her.' What do you say about that?"
"I want people to understand I was trying to get away from publicity. I wanted to be away from all of that. I didn't need anymore publicity."
