An Army veteran has been criticized for posting a video ranting about how he finds overweight people repulsive.
John Burk is a former Army Drill Sergeant who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He says he posted a video, some say is fat shaming on his Facebook page to motivate people to get fit. He never expected the backlash.
In the video, Burk said: “When I sit there and I look at someone that's overweight, I find that utterly repulsive and disgusting. Why? Because it shows a lack of self-discipline.”

INSIDE EDITION’s Steven Fabian spoke to Burk and said: “By calling overweight people utterly repulsive, disgusting, you definitely offended some people.”
Burk said: “Yeah, well you can't walk out your front door without stepping into somebody's feelings. There were a lot of people making excuses and it got to the point where it was so aggravating and it needs to be said.”
He wasn't always so buff. He once tipped the scales at 250 pounds and says he was bullied.

Fabian asked: “Having been bullied as a kid for being overweight are you not bullying overweight people now?”
“Absolutely not! Absolutely not! I do not believe in bullying whatsoever, but I’m also a realist. I do not believe bullying will ever go away. The first person they go to is the overweight kid,” he said.
