Incredible footage, which the Ohio State Highway Patrol shared to Facebook last week, shows Devers racing from his car and down an embankment to the truck, which had come off the road.
He found the driver belted in his seat, taking low, gasping breaths and with his eyelids half closed, according to authorities. The driver's eyes then rolled back in his head and he stopped breathing.
Audio reveals the trooper desperately trying to save him.
“Keep breathing for me,” Devers tells him.
He shouts: “Don’t you die on me! Don’t you die on me. Come on. Open your eyes. Come on!”
Devers counts as he performs chest compressions on the man. He can also be heard instructing a passerby, who had stopped to help.
"Hold his head," the trooper says. "Nice and easy."
At the end of the video, Devers says: "He’s breathing."

The trooper was at the scene for 12 minutes before medical staff arrived. The driver then started breathing on his own before he was taking to a nearby hospital.
He has made a full recovery, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
"In speaking with the family, medical personnel and witnesses at the scene, it is apparent the quick actions of Trooper Devers helped save the driver’s life," they added.
Devers received a Certificate of Recognition on Thursday afternoon.
"It seemed like an eternity," Devers said, the Daily Call reported. "I fell back on my training."
