Donald Trump 'Stalked' Princess Diana, Saw Her as the 'Ultimate Trophy Wife,' Friend Says

Donald Trump bombarded Princess Diana with flowers after her divorce from Prince Charles, one of her friends has said.

Did Donald Trump pursue Princess Diana, considering her to be the "ultimate trophy wife"?

British television host Selena Scott made the shocking claims over the weekend.

She added that Princess Diana - who was her close friend - was so turned off by Trump, she asked Scott: "What am I going to do? He gives me the creeps."

Scott wrote in The Sunday Times of London that Trump "bombarded" Diana with flowers after her divorce from Prince Charles.

"Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife. As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment, she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her,” Scott wrote.

The two never dated but after Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997, Trump told friends, "He always thought he had a chance of romance and would have had a 'shot' with her," according to the article.

Selena Scott has been feuding with Trump for years.

He said of her in an interview a few years ago: “Selena Scott tried to make me look bad and where is she now? Whatever happened to Selena Scott, where is she now?”

But Trump concedes in his own words that he was infatuated with Diana.

In his 1997 book, Trump: The Art of the Comeback, he wrote: "I only have one regret in the women department - that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer. She was a genuine princess - a dream lady."

This month marks the 18th anniversary of Diana's passing.
