While they didn't address their own situation directly, they said there should be greater education about the issue.

Jessa, 22, said: "I feel like this should be a discussion people are having, even regularly.

"I think that it shouldn't be a taboo subject, that we should be bringing awareness to child sexual abuse and talking about this."

Her 24-year-old sister added: "It's amazing to understand that there are so many people that deal with this exact same thing in their own families."

Their mother said: "I was so glad that my girls and I were able to do this together and that we could just be a support and encouragement to each other to be able to gain more information about this important topic."

Josh 's molestation scandal first came to light in May. After the revelations, TLC pulled the family's show, 19 Kids & Counting.

He said in a statement at the time: "Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends.

"I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling."

Two weeks ago, after Josh was named in reports about the Ashley Madison leak, the 27-year-old admitted that he had cheated on his wife, Anna. He is now seeking help in rehab, his family said.
