Halle Berry and her French actor husband, Olivier Martinez, are calling it quits after two years of marriage.
The couple, who have a 2-year-old son, Maceo, released a joint statement on Tuesday saying they plan to "move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son."
"It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce," they said.

Berry and Martinez met while making the film "Dark Tide" in 2010. They married in July 2013, the AP reports.
This makes the Academy Award winning actress's third divorce.
It will be the first for Martinez, though the actor has in the past been romantically linked to such high-profile ladies as Mira Sorvino and Kylie Minogue.
The couples' short marriage became tabloid fodder after a 2012 confrontation between Martinez and Berry's ex-partner and father to her daughter Nahla, Gabriel Aubry.

After a judge blocked Berry from moving Nahla to Martinez's native France, Aubry claimed Martinez threatened to kill him before physically assaulting him on Thanksgiving Day of that year.
The claim was included in a court complaint that ultimately won Aubry a temporary restraining order against Martinez.
However, it was Aubry, a model, who was arrested at the time on suspicion of misdemeanor battery related to the confrontation.
According to TMZ, Berry and Martinez later chose not to pursue charges against Aubry. The restraining order was dropped and the custody issues were amicably resolved.
