A popular YouTube vlogger got the surprise of a lifetime when his wife revealed exciting news during what he thought was a typical video post.
A popular YouTube vlogger got the surprise of a lifetime when his wife revealed exciting news during what he thought was a typical video post.
“What’s up guys? So today we’re going to do something a little different. We’re going to do a taste test challenge,” Cory Williams, 34, told the camera, has his giddy wife, Kristen Williams, 28, jumped up and down in the background.
“This is her idea.” he laughed.
“I’m so excited!” she said before blindfolding her husband for the test.
“Originally I was just working on another one of my videos on another YouTube channel,” Cory Williams told INSIDE EDITION.
“She came in and said ‘hey, we’ve got to do this video, I’ve got a good idea, it’s going to be fun… trust me it’s going to be amazing! She was super happy so of course I was excited to do it,” he said.
As he got to work tasting small jars of mystery food, she silently held up signs to the camera.
“Cory thinks this is a taste challenge, but that’s not all this is,” the signs read. “One sample is a HUGE surprise.”
He committed to the challenge, focusing on correctly guessing what he ate.
“I really tried,” he told IE with a laugh.

Tasting his third jar of food, he said: “Oh jeez. This brings back a lot of memories… It’s banana baby food.”
“Can you think of any reason I’d give you that?” she asked.
“Because it was my favorite when I was a little boy,” he said, smiling.
“For a second, I thought ‘wait a minute, she’s giving me baby food, where did she get this? I don’t remember her going shopping,” he said to IE.
“Anyone else who might like that?” she asked in the video.
“Um? Babies?” he said, starting to laugh.
Finally his wife gave in, telling him the big secret.
“We’re gonna have a baby,” she laughs as she takes his blindfold off.
“You’re serious? You’re dead serious? … No way! You’re kidding!” he excitedly said, kissing her and her stomach in between asking if the announcement was real.
“We’ve been planning this for a long time,” he told IE, noting that his wife said days earlier that they would have to keep trying.
“Every single time I watch it, I tear up,” he said. “Every single time.”
Kristen Williams is seven weeks along, but felt the news was too important to not tell.
“It was too big. We decided together, ‘let’s share this with the world,’” he told IE. “If anything does go wrong in the first three months… at least we can show the world the truth about life; there are ups and downs. We’re staying positive.
“I’m going to give this baby all the love I can give,” he said. “I don’t even have the right words (to describe) the level of excitement!”
The Williams met in California and after a few months of dating moved to Alaska for her work as a quality engineer. They married in May 2015.

“I can’t say I’ve ever been this happy in my life,” he told IE, saying he loved how his wife told him the good news.
“Kristen, she is a very creative person. It was the perfect way to tell me,” he said.
The couple told their parents the good news before posting the video, which was filmed about two weeks ago.
“That was so hard not saying anything,” he said of waiting on posting.
The video, posted to Williams’ DudeLikeHELLA YouTube channel, garnered nearly 60,000 views within a day of its posting. The positive reaction has touched the pair, who can’t wait to welcome the newest member of the Williams family in June.
“It’s a very special part of our lives. It’s a very intimate thing,” he said. “I’m ready to be a father. I’m going to be the best father I can possibly be.”
