She was once seen as the unbeatable queen of UFC fighting, but Ronda Rousey's reign as the women's bantamweight champion came to a stunning end on Sunday in less than two rounds.
Rousey, an Olympic medalist in Judo who turned her skills into a high-profile--and hitherto undeafeted--career in mixed martial arts, fell to veteran boxer from New Mexico Holly Holm.

After dominating the first round, Holm knocked Rousey out with a kick to the head in the second.
A bloodied Rousey was taken to a Melbourne, Australia hospital aftger leaving the city's Etihad stadium, Associated Press reports.
Holm was heavily favored to lose at the start of the fight, with 33 to 4 odds according to Odds Shark.

Prior to the historic fight, Rousey told Rolling Stone she intends to disappear afterward.
"After this fight, I'm definitely going to let some people miss me, for sure. Believe me, there's nothing I would like to do more than disappear for a while," she said.
Rousey likely wants to vanish now more than ever. The 28-year-old never returned to Etihad Stadium to participate in the evening's post-fight media conference.
