Lyndon Albers, 2, was found naked, bruised and with her head shaved on the side of a road miles from her Massachusetts home.
A woman accused of kidnapping, beating and using a cigarette to burn a two-year-old girl she used to babysit has been hallucinating and has also expressed suicidal thoughts, according to a court psychologist who testified Monday.
Abigail Hanna, 21, of Topsfield, Massachusetts, pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail pending an evaluation and possible dangerousness hearing, a spokesperson for the Essex County District Attorney's office said.
A court-appointed psychologist who interviewed Hanna testified that she did not know where she was and she did not have an understanding of the charges, CBS reported.
Hanna was arrested on Saturday and hit with multiple charges after two-year-old Lyndon Albers was found naked, bruised and with her head shaved on the side of a road miles from her Hamilton home by a couple driving to work about 9 a.m. Friday
The little girl’s parents said they last saw their daughter early Friday and called 911 once they saw she was gone.
Little Lyndon was taken to an area hospital, where she was reunited with her parents and was treated for her injuries for two days.
“We have suffered a horrific ordeal. We are grateful to have our daughter back. We are extremely grateful to the kind couple who found our daughter,” a statement from the Albers family said.
That couple, identified by authorities as Anton and Marge Crosby, had driven past the child before realizing it was a baby on the side of the road.

“It could have been a doll, but I'm going to spin around,” Anton Crosby recalled to WHDH. “Her head was down and she was shivering, so I took my coat off, put it around her and brought her into the car.”
The little girl also had cigarette burns on her body, the district attorney said.
“Evidence from the case indicates that the abduction was not a random crime… Hanna is the former babysitter of the child she abducted,” Hamilton Police Chief Russell Stevens said in a statement.
Hanna had previously worked as the Albers family’s babysitter, watching the child one time, her parents told investigators.
Lyndon’s mother, who works as a gym teacher, wrote in a November 2014 school bulletin that she was looking for someone to watch her daughter.
“Can you Help this Gym Teacher Mom!” the post began.
Hanna had been fired, Lyndon's parents told police, but it was not immediately clear what led to her termination.
After trying to locate Hanna by phone, investigators went to her home and arrived just as she was pulling up to the house, according to an arrest affidavit.
"First, Hanna said she didn't know the Albers family, but after some time she said she had babysat for them one time, the parents were strict and she knew they kept the doors unlocked at their house," the affidavit said.
Hanna, who according to the affidavit appeared dirty and had a twig in her hair, "was acting erratic and told (investigators) she had anxiety issues. She would cry and then immediately stop."
"Abigail Hanna told us that she got dirty when she was trying to corral a stray cat, earlier in the morning, while running through the woods," the affidavit said.
Later, when Hanna was leaving her mother and her boyfriend to speak with an attorney, she was allegedly found to be trying to take a bag with her that contained toddler's clothing.
"A pink jacket was found in the bag and it was dirty and observed to had dirt and vegetative debris on it. This was after the jacket was supposedly washed," the affidavit said.
A tenant of the Hanna family allegedly told invetigators that the 21-year-old babysitter had a history of stealing things and recently suffered a miscarriage, the affidavit said.
Hanna was arrested at Salem Hospital and was charged with kidnapping; breaking and entering in the night with intent to commit a felony; assault and battery on a child, causing serious bodily injury; and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, which the district attorney said was a cigarette.
She will return to court on December 11. INSIDE EDITION has reached out to her attorney for comment.
According to Hanna's Facebook. she studied English literature at Gordon College, where she said she previously worked as a counselor.
A spokesperson for the school said Hanna is not a current student at Gordon College.
"In the summer of 2014 she worked in one of our summer camp programs but is not a current employee of Gordon College," the spokesperson said in an email to INSIDE EDITION.
She recently announced on the social media site that she was engaged. Her fiancé deleted his Facebook page Saturday, the Boston Globe reported.

The Albers family asked for privacy during the difficult time.
“We are extremely thankful for having the best family, friends and community supporting us through this difficult time,” the Albers family’s statement said.
“We are asking for privacy out of respect for the young ages of our children, and out of an understanding that as parents we need to be able to restore a sense of calm, comfort, and normalcy for the well being of our children,” the Albers family said.
The Hanna family also released a statement Monday, according to MyFoxBoston.com.
"We are so thankful that Lyndon is improving and wish her and her family complete healing in every way. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. We also will continue to care for Abi, whom we love very much. We ask that everyone respect the privacy of both families in this very difficult time," the Hanna family statement said.
