Morgan Freeman's plane tire blew during take-off in Mississippi while he was en route to Texas to film a segment for National Geographic.
Morgan Freeman got a serious scare Saturday when his plan was forced to land shortly after take-off from a small airport in Mississippi.
The 78-year-old actor was en route from Clarksdale to Texas, where he was due to film a segment for National Geographic's "The Story of God," according to a statement from the actor.

According to the statement, Morgan's plane blew a tire, which led to other ploblems and eventually to the forced landing in the town of Tunica.
"Sometimes things don't go as planned," Freeman said. "But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch.
"I cannot say the same about my plane. I appreciate the concern and prayers for our safety."

Freeman and Hobson were reportedly the only people onboard the plane.
Clarksdale Mayor Bill Luckett told ABC News that Freeman's plane went off the runway upon landing.
Unscathed, Freeman took a different aircraft to Houston. The condition of his plane was unknown.
