But that didn't seem to bother the man, David Kalb, who was pictured grinning from ear to ear in his mugshot.
Troopers responded to a disturbance call at a public housing facility and found Kalb, 41, who said he'd lost his key. Officers went to his apartment and came across the mushrooms, according to reports.
Trooper Ryan Marmol wrote in the police report, obtained by Trib Live: "In plain view, I observed a small amount of marijuana, 70 mushroom plants and 10 mason jars containing active ingredients to manufacture psychedelic mushrooms."
Kalb was arraigned on charges of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A judge ordered him to be held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $10,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15.
