A 91-year-old woman was killed when her 78-year-old friend accidentally ran her over with a car after dropping her off at her Florida home, according to reports.

The car knocked Bessmer to the ground and Schleider pressed the accelerator to back up, running over her friend, officials told the AP.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Bessmer could not be saved.
Bessmer’s loved ones were stunned by her death.

“Today I lost the kindest, most optimistic and open hearted person I have ever known. Grandma, you will always be the person I strive to be, and will miss you with all my heart,” her granddaughter wrote on Facebook.
Highway patrol detectives are investigating, and so far no charges have been filed, the AP wrote.
