The ad reiterates his most controversial proposals, including a temporary shut down on Muslims entering America and building a massive wall to help stop illegal immigration.
He also vowed to "cut off the head" of ISIS leaders and "take their oil."
The 30-second ad will appear on local stations in Iowa and New Hampshire from Tuesday, but he has already posted it on his website.
In a statement, Trump said: "I am very proud of this ad. I don't know if I need it, but I don't want to take any chances because if I win we are going to Make America Great Again."
Trump rang in the new year live on Fox News while at his Palm Beach estate, Mar-a-Lago, and said of Hillary Clinton: “I think I will be her worst nightmare.”
More information is also emerging about the first Republican debate in August, when Trump and Fox's Megyn Kelly went at each other.

Kelly told Vanity Fair that she was actually violently ill before the debate.
“I would have crawled over a pile of hot coals to make it to that debate,” she said.
Vanity Fair says Kelly moderated the debate "with a blanket over her legs and a bucket to throw up in by her side."
