A woman in a hijab was thrown out of a Donald Trump rally in South Carolina
A woman in a Muslim head scarf was ejected from a Donald Trump rally in South Carolina after she stood in silent protest during the GOP frontrunner’s speech.
Rose Hamid, 56, rose to her feet in the stands behind Trump when he said Syrian refugees fleeing war torn Syria were affiliated with ISIS. She was wearing a turquoise and white head scarf and a shirt bearing a Star of David that read “Muslim.”

Thought she said nothing, people in the crowd began chanting “Trump! Trump! Trump” – as the campaign had instructed them to do if protesters disturbed the Friday night event, CNN reported.
The flight attendant was escorted by police out of the building as the crowd booed and screamed “Get out!” One person shouted “Do you have a bomb? Do you have a bomb?” Hamid told CNN in an interview afterward.
Trump, who had watched the woman being led out, turned back to the microphone and asked facetiously, “Was there somebody up there?”

Hamid said she stood in the middle of Trump’s speech to show that Muslims are just the same as anyone else. The catcalling and the shouting showed that people “just get wrapped up in the hate mongering and they don’t even know what they’re saying,” she explained. “I feel sorry for them.”
Trump created a furor last month when he said all Muslims should be banned from the entering the country after the San Bernardino massacre that killed 14 and and wounded 21.
Before she was led out, Hamid said she was having a nice time sitting in the stands, and the people around here were “perfectly nice” to her, she said. As she was being ejected, Hamid say, “a woman leaned over and put her hand on my arm and said ‘I’m so sorry this is happening to you.’’’
Trump’s campaign rallies are often disrupted by protesters. The candidate has dealt with them by having them thrown out, often while shouting “shut up” and “get him out of here.”
Police at South Carolina’s event said they had been told by Trump’s campaign staff to remove anyone who interfered with the event.
On Thursday, Trump had a male protester thrown out and told security officers to not give the man his coat. “Get him out,” Trump snarled. “Get him out. Don’t give him his coat. Confiscate his coat. You know, it’s about 10 degrees below zero outside,” he said.
