According to The Times newspaper, the couple -- who were first pictured together in October after starting a relationship over the summer -- were engaged in Los Angeles, where they were attending the Golden Globes awards ceremony on Sunday.
"They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future," a Murdoch spokesman told The Times.
Murdoch and the 59-year-old Texas beauty were introduced by one of Murdoch's sisters while in Murdoch's native Australia.

Murdoch has been married three times previously and has six kids. Hall married Jagger in 1990, years into their two-decade relationship, which produced four children.
Indeed, this latest engagement announcement has an undeniable Brady Bunch feel.
"Mr. Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement," it read.
