In an exclusive interview on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning, Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon told George Stephanopoulos what led to that terrible night.

“There is no excuse for my actions. I'm sorry. I am ashamed. I hurt so many people with this, my family my friends,” she said. “The events leading up to that point…my father had been placed in the hospital and I had just broken up with my boyfriend.”

The host asked: “You guys had been drinking?”

“Yes,” she replied.

In the video, Ramkissoon can be seen trying to hit the driver and apparently knees him in the groin. He pushes her and she falls to the ground. She gets right up and climbs in the car, screaming at the driver to get back in.

Then, as the driver calls for help, she sarcastically mocks him, saying: “Oh, I’m getting really attacked. I’m a five-foot girl who weighs a hundred pounds; I’m getting really belligerent right now.”

She then threw whatever she could find out the window.

Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon, 30, apparently jumped into the Uber car ahead of another passenger, Juan Cinco, who had ordered it first. The video was taken by Cinco in the early hours of Sunday morning.

She said on Good Morning America: "I can't even watch the tape."

She says she feels awful about how she treated the driver: “No one deserves to be treated that way. I paid for the damages and I am thankful he didn't press charges."

The 30-year-old has been placed on administrative leave from Jackson Health System.

Ramkissoon says she realizes that this single tape has changed her life forever, saying: "I’m here to own up to what I did, taking responsibility for it and asking for forgiveness."
