Two teenagers have been arrested for allegedly shooting a puppy 18 times. Both have been charged with animal cruelty while hundreds want to adopt the pup.
Two South Carolina teenagers have been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly shooting a puppy 18 times with a BB gun, police said.
De'Monte Ty'Juan Douglas, 17, was charged as an adult with first-degree crutely to an animal, Rock Hill Police Department Capt. Mark Bollinger told INSIDE EDITION Wednesday.

A 14-year-old boy was charged as a juvenile. His name was not released because of his age, Bollinger said.
Douglas posted a $5,000 bond Tuesday. He has not yet entered a plea. The 14-year-old has been released to the custody of his parents, authorities said.

The attack occurred at an apartment complex where a group of juveniles were playing with an abandoned puppy, police said.
Two teens had a BB gun and a knife "and for whatever reason, they just started shooting this puppy with the BB gun," Bollinger said.
Police were called, and officers tried to find the puppy's mother, but couldn't, Bollinger said.
The furry puppy, age six weeks, was taken to the Ebenezer Animal Hospital, where photos of the dog were posted on its website.
And that's when things got a whole lot better.
"There's such an outpouring of interest in this puppy," Bollinger said. "This dog will get a good home and hopefully these young men will learn they can't do this kind of stuff."

Hospital staff named the dog Brody. So many people have offered to adopt the dog, the vet lab has closed the list for prospective owners.
Hundreds of people call daily, wanting to take Brody home, hospital staff. Others have donated money to pay his hospital bill.
But it's too early for Brody to leave the facility. He still has BB pellets embedded in his body and faces more procedures to remove them.
