George Bush says he forgives Kanye West for referring to him as a racist, after Kanye made an apology on the Today show. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
George Bush forgives Kanye West, saying, "I'm not a hater."
Appearing live on the Today show, Matt Lauer surprised the former President with a tape of Kanye West's appearance on the Today show when West said, "I would tell George Bush, in my moment of frustration, I didn't have grounds to call him racist. I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don't always choose the right words."
That, of course, is a reference to his crack during the hurricane Katrina telethon where West said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people."
Bush clearly appreciated West's apology. Although he had a little trouble with his name, saying, "It wasn't just Conway...Kanye West who was talking like that during Katrina."
Lauer asked, "Does your faith allow you to forgive Kanye West?"
Bush replied, "Oh absolutely. Of course it does. I'm not a hater. I didn't hate Conway West."
Now West is lashing out at the Today show host, tweeting: "(matt lauer) tried to force my answers. It was very brutal and I came there with only positive intent."
