The NBA star was secretly recorded by a teammate, D’Angelo Russell, allegedly admitting to cheating on his fiancée on tapes that have been leaked.
Russell recorded Young allegedly boasting he had sex with a 19-year-old girl. It is unclear how the tapes were leaked.
He recorded the conversation when the two were sharing a hotel room on the road during the current NBA season.
On Wednesday night, before the Lakers played the Miami Heat, Young went before the cameras and told reporters: “I don't wanna get into my personal life right now.”
Russell expressed regret and remorse over the situation: “I feel as sick as possible ... I wish I could make things better right away, but I can't.” He has said he apologized to Young for the recording.
When Russell took to the court on Wednesday he was greeted with a chorus of boos.

Azalea and Young got engaged last June, but the public airing of the tape could bring her wedding to a screeching halt.
The pop star tweeted on Wednesday afternoon:
