An Ohio man and woman were arrested after the man allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl while the woman filmed the attack on the live-streaming app Periscope, officials said.
Marina Alexeevna Lonina, 18, allegedly began broadcasting the incident as her acquaintance, Raymond Boyd Gates, 29, forced himself on the girl while the three were at a Columbus home on Feb. 27, Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Ron O’Brien said in a statement.
Another friend of Lonina’s who was out of the state watched the Periscope live stream of the rape and contacted the authorities, the statement said.
Lonina had allegedly also photographed the victim, who authorities identified as her friend, while the girl was nude the night before.

Gates and Lonina were each indicted on charges including rape, sexual battery, kidnapping and pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor.
Lonina was also indicted for one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material “for photographing events that took place the night before the rape,” the statement said.
“If Gates and Lonina are convicted for these charges, they each face a potential sentence in excess of forty years in prison,” O’Brien stated.
The pair remained in custody at the Franklin County Jail on Thursday, records show. Neither Lonina nor Gates have yet issued a plea.
Lonina’s attorney, Roger Soroka, told reporters that his client maintains her innocence and any further comment is premature.

Gates did not yet have an attorney Thursday, according to court records.
Lonina’s Periscope account appeared to have been taken down after the incident.
The live-streaming service prohibits the posting of graphic content, according to the app’s guidelines, but this is not the first time alleged crimes have been broadcast through Periscope.

Whitney Marie Beall, 23, was taken into custody after she failed a field sobriety test in October, Lakeland Police said at the time.
She pleaded no contest in February and received 12 months of probation, alcohol evaluation and treatment, a 10-day vehicle impound, had her driver’s license suspended for six months and was forbidden from having alcohol or going to bars.
Beall was also sentenced to 150 hours of community service and 10 days of weekend work release as part of an enhanced sentence for “publicly flaunting her disregard for the safety of the community,” Assistant State Attorney Lori Winstead told ABC News at the time.
