Muscle Car Expert Buys His 19-Year-Old Daughter Her First Mustang

"Any daughter of mine was not just getting any car," said Michael Crown, muscle car aficionado.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Michael Crown from Pennsylvania is known in the muscle car community for his two 1966 Chevrolet Chevelles -- his fully restored Danube Blue, worth approximately $90,000, and his original Tuxedo Black, worth $60,000.

In true daddy's girl fashion, Crown said his daughter, 19, picked up his passion for muscle cars.

"Taylor grew up around me restoring cars, [going to] car shows, you name it. She is no girly girl!" he said to InsideEdition.com, adding  "she's always had a thing for Mustangs."

When it came to his daughter's first car, he knew he was ready to pass on the torch.

"Any daughter of mine was not just getting any car," Crown said.

Months ago, Crown said he spotted a 2004 Anniversary Edition bright red Mustang. He told IE.com it was in great condition and had only one previous owner. It needed a new coat of paint, a change of wheels, and new headlights, but for the restoration expert, it was no challenge.

For months, he fixed up the car, and was careful to hide it in case she unexpectedly spent a weekend home from college.

Finally, for her birthday earlier this month, Crown surprised his daughter with the prize and caught her entire reaction on camera.

"Oh my god, I have a Mustang!" she screamed as she jumped for joy.

"I don't think I've ever seen Taylor so excited my whole life," Crown later told IE.com.

Crown said now that she was home for the summer and needed a way to get to her summer job, on top of completing an excellent first year at college, "it just made sense."

"I really could have bought her a beat-up old van and she probably would have had the same reaction," he laughed. "In the grand scheme of things, what little girl wouldn't want a red Mustang?"
