Bernice Marie White, 30, allegedly beat her 11-year-old son with a piece of lumber when he didn't clean their Texas home the way she liked.
A Texas mother has been charged with injury to a child, a felony, after police say she broke her son's fingers with a piece of lumber because he didn't clean their home up to her specifications.
Bernice White, 30, was arrested after an investigation police say began in April when a 911 call led them to her North Austin apartment.
The disturbance was initially connected to a fight White had with her sister, KEYE reports. When police arrived, they say they found the sister with her arm broken.

Police say White broke her sister's arm with a 1x4 piece of lumber.
Police say they searched the home and discovered White's 11-year-old son with his hand wrapped in a bandage, and bruising and injuries to other parts of his body.
After the boy was transported to the hospital, it was determined that he'd suffered several broken fingers and a fractured foot.

According to investigators, White beat the boy after she arrived home from work and found the house had not been cleaned to her standards.
Police say White chased down the boy with the piece of lumber and his fingers were broken while he tried to protect his face from injury.
White has been charged wuth Injury to a Child, Elderly Individual, or Disabled Individual, a third degree felony, a crime punishable with up to 10 years in jail and a fine as much as $10,000.
White is next due back in court June 7.
