The reclusive fitness fanatic has reportedly taken steps to transition into a woman in the years he's been out of the public eye.
The National Enquirer claims Richard Simmons hasn't been seen for nearly three years is because he has been going through a sex change and has been hiding at his mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

The report comes just days after the fitness guru was reportedly rushed to the hospital for "bizarre behavior." Simmons insists he was just dehydrated.
When he returned home Monday night, photographers were waiting outside his gate.
A man with a full beard and mustache was photographed in the backseat of a car that arrived at Simmons’ home. It is unclear if it is the former Sweatin’ to the Oldies host or a disguise he could have worn to fool photographers.
Simmons' housekeeper wasn't answering questions outside his mansion Wednesday about the Enquirer report.
The Enquirer says, "Yes, this photo shoot is real!" They also claim the exercise expert wishes to be called Fiona.

Simmons’ last public appearance was on CNN just days before New Year's Eve 2013.
Simmons’ spokesman is also calling the Enquirer story "not true and a complete fabrication” as well as “crap.”
His spokesman also told People magazine: "He is not transitioning into a woman. He had knee surgery a few years ago and has a bum knee. When he decides to come back, he will come back.
