Teen Babysitter Driving 4 Kids Charged With DWI After Good Samaritan Stops Her

A Good Samaritan called police after she spotted Sabrina Macri in the parking lot of a Long Island beach.

A 19-year-old New York woman was arrested for driving drunk while four children she was babysitting were in her car, police said.

A Good Samaritan called police after she spotted Sabrina Macri in the parking lot of Cedar Beach on Harbor Beach Road in Mount Sinai, Long Island, at about 2 p.m. Thursday.

Macri, of Sound Beach, appeared intoxicated and was unable to locate her car in the lot, Suffolk County Police said.

Once she located her black 2015 Honda Civic, Macri allegedly loaded the four boys, ages 4 to 11, into the car and tried driving off, authorities said.

"One of the girls knew her, that worked in the booth, so they were trying to talk to her and just explain to her, you can't leave, you can't leave," the Good Samaritan, identified as Nicole Diaz, told News 12.

When Macri still tried to leave, the woman used her own vehicle to block her until police arrived, cops said.

Prosecutors said Macri was allegedly defiant at the scene, telling one officer: “I didn't do this s***. I was drinking last night. I might have had a drink."

"I f****** hate you, you guys have to let me go," she allegedly continued. "I didn't do anything. So what if I had a few drinks? That’s what people my age do, you f****** loser."

She refused to submit to a breathalyzer test and a blood warrant was secured, but the results from the crime lab will take a few days, a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney's office told InsideEdition.com.

After being told a blood test was going to be performed, Macri allegedly said: "You can't put a needle in me, that's against the law. You won't find any drugs in me, I don't do drugs. You just want to see how much I drank, f*** you, you can't put a needle in me."

Macri had posted on social media about going to the beach that day, tweeting at 12:38 p.m.: "Beach days are the happiest days."

Macri’s friends appeared to rush to her defense after the incident, taking to Twitter in the hours after her arrest.

“People are so quick to talk about something they know nothing about,” one wrote on Twitter.

“Everyone needs to mind their own f****** business,” another tweeted.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years or younger, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Macri's alleged behavior left the Good Samaritan who stopped her almost speechless.

"I think that... I don't know," Diaz told News 12. "I don't want to speak ill of her, I don't know her. And I hope that this will teach her that you have to be more responsible."

Macri pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Friday and is being held on $10,500 cash bail.

The judge issued an order of protection on behalf of the children, ordering Macri to stay away from them, their home and their school.

Macri's attorney Anthony Scheller said his client has no criminal record, telling News 12 “It’s very early on in the proceeding, so there’s a lot of investigation to do. We’re thankful that obviously there was no accident. There was nobody injured.”
