Bride Maggie Wakefield, 22, explained that she and her groom wanted to do something special for their grandmothers, who both influenced their lives.
You're never too old to do something new, and these Pennsylvania grandmothers proved just that by becoming the flower girls at their grandkids' wedding.

75-year-old Joyce Benedict, grandmother to the bride, and 74-year-old Drue Fitzgerald, grandmother to the groom, sprinkled rose petals down the aisle earlier this month at their wedding ceremony in Gap.
The bride Maggie Wakefield, 22, explained that she and her groom wanted to do something special for their grandmothers, who both influenced their lives.
So, Wakefield said, "My husband, Josh, and I decided to honor our grandmothers at our wedding by having them be our flower girls."
She said that after her father died of colon cancer, she wanted his side of the family to be heavily involved in the big day, so she asked her grandfather, Ronald Sr. to walk her down the aisle as her grandmother joined the procession as a flower girl, along with her husband's grandmother.
Benedict and Fitzgerald can be seen in pictures taken by Ashley Elizabeth Photography wearing matching grey lace gowns they picked out together.
"I’m always trying to photograph candid moments of the grandparents at weddings, because they play such a key role in a family," photographer Ashley Gillman told InsideEdition.com.
Later in the wedding, Benedict was photographed dancing the night away with her husband of 56 years.
"I hope that one day, that's going to be Josh and I," Wakefield told Today.com.
