Gregory Wilkerson, 44, and Brandi Harmon, 25, were charged with three counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under.
A man and woman were arrested after three young children in their care were found living in a filthy shed behind a Kentucky home, authorities said.
A K-9 deputy and an official with the Department of Social Services investigating reports of neglect and child abuse discovered Gregory Wilkerson, 44, Brandi Harmon, 25, and three children living in a shed behind a Danville home on Lebanon Road, the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The shed had no electricity and no running water. A bucket containing human feces was also found inside the shed, the sheriff’s office said.
All three children were brought to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center to be treated for extreme rashes and bed bug bites, officials said.
The children were placed into protective custody and were awaiting placement by social services, police said.
Wilkerson and Harmon were charged with three counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under. They were both held at the Boyle County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.

Both remained jailed Friday.
