Mom of Gymnastics Star Simone Biles Reveals Her Own Pre-Competition Nerves: 'I'm Just a Wreck!'

Nellie Biles, who adopted Simone in 2000, is gearing up for Tuesday night's competition.

Before the U.S. women’s gymnastics team battled for their gold medal in Rio Tuesday night, the mother of one Olympian admitted she was a nervous wreck.

Simone Biles’ mother, Nellie, told Good Morning America: "I believe there’s more pressure on me than on Simone because I am so nervous. I mean, I am just a wreck! And Simone knows that so she is the one who would text me or call me, ‘Mom, I am doing good and I’m ready.’”

Nellie is Biles' biological maternal grandmother but she adopted Simone and her sister in 2000 after they spent time in foster care.

The team took gold on Tuesday night, meaning the U.S. team won the top spot two years in a row.

The moms of the gymnasts weren't the only ones excited about the Olympics.
